Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai Presents Joachim Textor As Executive Chef

Pudong, China, 3 May 2017 – Joachim Textor has been appointed executive chef of Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai. He joins the hotel from Intercontinental Cairo Semiramis, Egypt, where he held the same position. 
Chef Joachim is responsible for fulfilling Shangri-La’s strict operating quality standards to ensure the highest levels of health, food hygiene and safety and to provide exceptional culinary experiences for guests. 
Originally from Germany, Chef Joachim has lived and worked in Asia for nearly 20 years in total. No stranger to China nor Shangri-La hotels, he has worked in China for more than 3 years and was an Executive Sous Chef in China World Hotel during their pre opening period.
Prior to joining the Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai family, Chef Joachim’s professional career covered a number of international hotel groups, including InterContinental Hotels Group, Aryaduta Hotels, Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, the Peninsula Hotels and Hilton Hotels & Resorts.  
Chef Joachim started his apprenticeship at Astoria Private Hotel, Germany in 1977. He has since gone on to have a successful career that has seen him work at five-star luxury hotel brands all over the world - from Germany to Switzerland, Britain, the United States, the Philippines, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and now back to China.
