Island Shangri-La Hong Kong Offers The Sweet Scents Of Peonia Nobile Through Its Acqua Di Parma Afternoon Tea

Island Shangri-La Hong Kong Offers The Sweet Scents Of Peonia Nobile Through Its Acqua Di Parma Afternoon Tea

Island Shangri La, Hong Kong has partnered with renowned Italian perfumer Acqua di Parma and Veuve Clicquot to create a floral afternoon tea for 2017 that satisfies all the senses.  The hotel introduces guests to the captivating scents of Acqua di Parma’s perfumes from its Le Nobili Collection through an afternoon tea set inspired by the perfumer’s feminine floral fragrances and available at the hotel’s Lobby Lounge and Island Gourmet from 27 December 2016 to 28 February 2017.

Guests are invited to savour this scrumptious tea set of delicate finger sandwiches and pastries, complement it with a glass of Veuve Clicquot Rosé, as well as take home their very own miniature bottle of Acqua di Parma perfume, which is beautifully housed in the brand’s iconic yellow hand-crafted hat box.

Paying homage to its latest fragrance, Peonia Nobile, from Acqua di Parma’s Le Nobili Collection, the afternoon tea set is inspired by peony from the Peonia Nobile perfume, as well as the other four alluring scents from the range, including Iris, Magnolia, Jasmine and Rose.  The hotel has created five different desserts based on these five Le Nobili fragrances: Iris – Exotic compote and ivory coconut mousse; Magnolia – Cherry and pistachio tart; Jasmine – Pink pepper and mandarin mousse on speculoos crust; Rose – Rose and vanilla macaroon; and last but not least, Peony – Raspberry and lychee with rose mascarpone cream.

As a perfect Valentine’s Day treat (the tea set will be available in the lead up to and during this amorous holiday),  the tea set ticks off all the traditional romantic treats including flowers, champagne and perfume in one enchanting experience.

ABOUT ACQUA DI PARMA
In 1916, master perfumers created a new fragrance in a small perfumer's laboratory in the old town centre of Parma, Italy. It was unusually fresh and modern compared to the perfumes of German origin, stronger and more intense, that were then so popular. This was the first real Italian eau de cologne, and it expressed a new sensibility. The most striking thing was the purity of the fragrance produced exclusively with natural ingredients. To this day, its composition has never been changed. The iconic Art Deco bottle known and loved today was created in the 1930s and instantly saw Colonia become the perfume of the era; a position it still enjoys today.

The overwhelming success of Colonia led to the launch of a wide range of ACQUA DI PARMA products, all true to the characteristics that had made it a byword for Italian sophistication over the years. New interpretations of Colonia were launched, new product lines were created; such as a feminine fragrance, Profumo, Blu Mediterraneo fragrances, and a refined home and leather collection. This evolution gradually widened ACQUA DI PARMA's horizons, enabling it to grow into a successful lifestyle brand.

An important new chapter in the history of ACQUA DI PARMA arrived in 2001, when LVMH bought into ACQUA DI PARMA. This enhanced the brand's international appeal and led to a translation of its values into new lines and products expressing an original concept of contemporary luxury. A new feminine collection was introduced (Le Nobili) and the world of Blu Mediterraneo increased its range with a specific skincare line, the Blu Mediterraneo Italian Resort.

All the lines continue to be produced strictly in Italy and are distributed in 36 countries worldwide, including Hong Kong.
