Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya Holds Charity Dinner for East Java Care for Cancer Kids Foundation

Surabaya, 14 October 2016 – Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya hosted an appreciation and charity dinner called “East meet West” on 13 October 2016 to express its appreciation for its valued guests’ generous support through the years.  At the event, the hotel also introduced its new general manager, Sigi Bierbaumer, to its top-level corporate customers.
“This is the first chapter of the charity dinner organised by the hotel’s team,” said Dian Iskandar, the hotel’s director of sales and marketing.  In addition, Ms Dian introduced Executive Chef Glen Roberts, Chinese Executive Chef Chenn Han Furn and Dim Sum Chef Nick Ng.
At the charity dinner, Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya presented the East meet West menu to 100 dinner guests who enjoyed the food and the excellent live band performance in a quiet and moving atmosphere.
At the same time, the hotel held charitable activities to contribute to society.  A charity auction was a very important part of the dinner, where the hotel sponsored buffet dinner and guestroom vouchers from eight Shangri-La properties for auction.  All proceeds raised will be given to Yayasan Kasih Anak Kanker Jawa Timur (East Java Care for Cancer Kids Foundation).
Located in Jalan Karang Menjangan No. 5, Surabaya, the foundation provides transit shelter for less-fortunate kids suffering from cancer who are waiting for treatment and chemotherapy at Dr. Soetomo Hospital.
