Shangri-La Appoints New Chinese Executive Chef

Surabaya, 21 July 2017 – Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya announces the appointment of Chef Goh Wooi Cheat as its new executive Chinese chef.  Chef Goh will lead the culinary team of Shang Palace, the hotel’s signature Chinese fine-dining restaurant, and will be responsible for the continuous development of the restaurant’s menu and for the maintenance of the quality and standards of food preparation, as well as oversee all Chinese food production of the hotel’s extensive banqueting events.
Shang Palace is primarily known for its exceptional Cantonese cuisine, making it a destination restaurant for both locals and visiting guests.  Chef Go brings with him over 33 years of culinary experience, which includes leadership in the kitchens at other international-chain five-star hotels in Singapore, Malaysia and Beijing, China. Chef Goh, with his many years of knowledge, is excited to introduce new menus twice a year with a strong focus on fusion beyond belief.  He is no stranger to Surabaya since he has worked with Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya back from 2009 to 2011.
