Surabaya, 29 September 2013 - Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya proudly presents Race & Care 2013, an annual charity sporting event that includes a 10 KM and 5 KM run on Sunday, 29 September 2013 from 6 until 11 am.
All proceeds of this event will be used to purchase limbs for kids and adults of the BK3S or Badan Koordinasi Kegiatan Kesejahteraan Sosial. BK3S is a social association and has engaged in numerous activities over the years and one of their programs involves kids which have missing limbs. Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya has partnered with BK3S to provide kids and adults with artificial limbs so they have an opportunity to life their life in a better way.

The event opens by Martin Brenner, General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya who gives his welcoming speech to all the participants. “Through this event, Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya wants to promote health and wellness in the Surabaya community also engage with local business to promote Corporate Social Activities to assist the kids and adults with missing limbs to life a normal live. There is also a bazaar during the event. Most of the companies who participate in giving the sponsorship also take part in this bazaar. All the proceeds from this bazaar also used to purchase limbs.
