Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai presents an exclusive Wine Dinner with Princess Irina and Natalia Strozzi at the hotel’s signature Jade on 36 Restaurant on 26 March 2013.
For centuries, many continue to be intrigued with the Mona Lisa, masterpiece of Leonardo Da Vinci, and one of the most acclaimed works of art in the world. As such, guests may find intrigue in knowing that Princess Irina and Natalia Strozzi have been identified by Italian Domenico Savini genealogist researcher as the direct decedents of Mona Gherardini, or more commonly known as the Mona Lisa. They are also the proprietors of Tenute Guicciardini Strozzi Vineyard, established in 994 and one of the oldest estates in the world.
During this dinner, Chef Franck - Elie Laloum will share a 7 course menu, paired with the wines from Tenute Guicciardini Strozzi Vineyard. The Princesses will then explain the wines in two different discussions with a translator.

About Natalia, Irina Strozzi and the Strozzi Family
Princess Natalia and Irina Strozzi are the daughters of the Prince Girolamo Strozzi of Tuscany. Strozzi is the name of an ancient and self-proclaimed noble family in Florence, who like their great rivals the Medici, began in banking before moving into politics. Until 1434, the Strozzi family was by far the richest in the city.
About Tenute Guicciardini Strozzi Vineyard
The business boasts over 1000 years of activity, with the earliest testimony to Cusona's existence dating back to 994 AD. The Cusona estate spreads over 530 hectares and is situated amongst the green Tuscan hills, close to the medieval town of San Gimignano (known as the medieval Manhattan). Amongst the best-known labels is the Vernaccia di San Gimignano, which was produced for the first time by the winery in 1200 and exalted by Dante, Michelangelo and Boccaccio.
About Chef de Cuisine Franck-Elie Laloum at Jade on 36 Restaurant
Prior to making his China debut at Jade on 36, Chef Franck-Elie was chef de cuisine at Maison Pic, a Michelin three-star restaurant in Valence, France. From 2000 to 2010, Chef Franck-Elie successively worked at the Michelin three-star restaurant Pavillon Ledoyen in Paris, Maison Troisgros in Roanne, the Michelin two-star restaurant La Palme d’Or in Cannes, and La Villa des Lys in Cannes.
Chef Franck-Elie presents classical French cuisine with a modern touch at Jade on 36 Restaurant, and enhances the restaurant to Michelin standards. He takes pride in his newly defined New Age French food, where he likes to present new flavours based on high-quality ingredients, and to take classical recipes and add new twists and dimensions with advanced technology, forming a union of opposites, the traditional and the innovative.
