As of the 29th of November, Shangri-La Hotel, Paris will once again be getting into the festive spirit.
Fairy lights will bring a touch of magic as they light up the hotel's listed façade and canopy, bringing the promise of surprises aplenty for children.
The terrace in the hotel's front courtyard will be transformed into a mysterious forest of Christmas trees and birches, where wooden horses will be waiting for the children. There, they'll be able to play to their hearts' delight under the watchful eyes of their parents.
The enchantment will continue as soon as guests step into the hotel, where they will discover a special Christmas boutique in the lounge area, abounding with treats created by the hotel's Pastry Chef, François Perret. Pyramids of glazed chestnuts will sit shoulder-to-shoulder with candied clementines in gorgeous sweet boxes, while fruit and marble cakes, made with spices or clementines, will tempt guests with their irresistible fragrances. Nearby, round Christmas cookies, made with oranges and nuts, will be enticingly displayed next to mouth-watering caramel squares. There will also be ribbons of marshmallow, mendiants (almond, fig, hazelnut and raisin biscuits) and orange speculoos biscuits, just waiting to melt in the mouth. During this time of festivities and sharing, Shangri-La Hotel, Paris will donate profits from sales to the organisation Pl4y International*, its partner of three years.
The magic will continue into the lobby with little Christmas cakes placed under bells leading to the Christmas wreath, which will be lit each Sunday with a candle. Iced biscuits, mendiants, cookies, candied fruits and candy canes will tempt kids and grown-ups alike. In the centre of the hotel's rotunda, a majestic 13-foot Christmas tree will be resplendent with tinsel and red and golden baubles, and covered with a cornucopia of Christmas treats.
A red and golden Christmas tree will stand in the restaurant La Bauhinia, the tables of which will also be dressed in Christmas colours – guests will find it hard to resist the Bûche Enchantée (Enchanted Yule Log) made by Chef François Perret. At the two-star restaurant L'Abeille, decorations in the neighbouring garden will extend to the tables, as well as the bar and the hotel's lounges.

Profits from sales at the Christmas boutique will be donated to a programme to help integrate disabled children at a school in the Ile-de-France region, coordinated through the organisation Pl4y International (formerly "Sports Without Borders"). Shangri-La Hotel, Paris has supported this organisation, which runs development programmes that use sport as an educational and therapeutic tool in schools, since 2012. http://pl4y.international/en/
