The Sparkling Christmas Log

Paris, 19th September 2016 – Inspired more than ever by year-end celebrations, the Pastry Chef at Shangri-La Hotel, Paris, Michaël Bartocetti, has transformed the traditional yule log into a graphic and modern Christmas tree.

Searching the depths of his imagination and creativity, the Pastry Chef immerses us in the magic of Christmas with this flamboyant red Christmas tree with multiple reflections. Passionate about design from a young age, he produced a pencil sketch and called on a wood worker to create a custom-made prototype.

This log reveals a crisp hazelnut and rice soufflé coated in delicate vanilla cream with a hint of orange blossom. Deep inside an almond and Piedmont hazelnut biscuit introduces softness and sweetness to your palate. To round it all off, the smoothness of liquid hazelnut caramel is heightened by a dash of lemon to bring balance and accuracy.

Delicately placed on the Christmas table, it is guaranteed to delight the most discerning gourmets.

The sparkling Christmas tree from Shangri-La Hotel, Paris, 8 persons, 108 €
Proposed at La Bauhinia restaurant from 5th to 25th December 2016.
Take-away sales welcome with 72 hours’ notice at +331 53 67 19 98.
