Easter Egg Treasure Ahoy! By Chef Pâtissier Michaël Bartocetti

This year, Michaël Bartocetti, Head Pastry Chef at Shangri-La Hotel, Paris, had a lot of fun creating his Easter special, the ‘Treasure Ahoy!’ egg: a ship full of surprises.

Inspired by travel and distant horizons, this “chocolate egg with a pirate spirit” is a delicious creation that will delight children and adults alike, taking them on a series of adventures.

The ship, made of sweet and fruity black Caribbean chocolate, is garnished with almond praline paste, fine sea salt and chips of almond nougatine. The mast, the bow and the crow’s nest are made of Jivara chocolate, which adds a touch of sweetness, while the captain’s quarters and crocodile are garnished with Valencia almond praline paste. This ship holds a secret treasure… golden coins are hidden inside!

The ‘Treasure Ahoy!’ egg will open up a whole world of incredible taste discoveries for chocolate lovers, to be shared with family or friends!

The ‘Treasure Ahoy!’ egg weighs 800 grams and measures 26 cm in height. Available to purchase, as a limited edition, from the 2nd of April, at Shangri-La Hotel, Paris. Price: 85€. Reservation 24 hours in advance at the restaurant La Bauhinia, by telephone: +33 (0)1 53 67 19 91 or by email: labauhinia.slpr@shangri-la.com.
