Chi, The Spa

Inspired by the Shangri-La legend, Chi, The Spa is a space of inner peace, enchantment and relaxation.

A bubble of serenity in the heart of the 16th arrondissement

Created around a vast swimming pool bathed in natural daylight, the area is a tribute to the creative vision of interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, the hotel’s long-time collaborator and design signature.
Upon arrival, guests are welcome by a great opening overlooking the stunning 15 by 6 meters swimming pool, and its Italian mosaics drawing a celadon and white oriental carpet with matching friezes. Perfect prolongation of the colour palette of the hotel, the décor of fresh shades of colour links French architecture to Oriental serenity, all while paying tribute to Prince Roland Bonaparte, distinguished botanist. From the almond colored carpet especially designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon, to the Chinese print on the wall of the fitness room, from the pale wood floor to the delicate moulding, each detail conveys a feeling of harmony and well-being. Lush vegetal and aquatic petterns in delicate greens decorate the five bas-reliefs made to measure for the walls around the mezzanine.

With its golden capital columns reminding the white marble that leads to the pool, the space is conceived as an invitation to relax. Large white wooden blinds form gentle light effects by the comfortable long chairs and the trompe-l’oeil ceiling. Following the philosophy of Chi, The Spa, the fitness area is also bathed in natural daylight thanks to the windows overlooking the terrace. State-of-the-art equipment includes two cycling machines and treadmills, an elliptical trainer, a stepper, a Vario cardio-training machine and a multifunctional exercise machine. An area for weight lifting, mat exercises, free weights and Kinesis strength training can be used independently or with a coach.

The British natural beauty brand “The Organic Pharmacy”

Thought out along the lines of this atmosphere, shower cabins, hammam and hairdresser welcome guests for signature treatments developed with the British brand of organic products, based on plants and essential oils, The Organic Pharmacy.

Why The Organic Pharmacy?
Shangri-La Hotel, Paris, former residence of Prince Roland Bonaparte, great nephew of Napoleon 1st, is a palace brimming with history: erudite aristocrat and great traveller that he was, the Prince consecrated part of his life to geography, geology and ethnology.
