Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney presents “Bonaparte Dinner”

Sydney, 3 October 2018 – Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney will revive the grand tradition of fine French cuisine from the early 20th century with its “Bonaparte Dinner” at Altitude from 11 October to 1 November 2018.

Guests will savour a sumptuous three course menu steeped in French history and created by celebrated Executive Chef Christophe Moret of two Michelin-starred L’Abeille at Shangri-La Hotel, Paris.

This rare dining experience was first staged at Shangri-La Hotel, Paris, Prince Roland Bonaparte’s former mansion, and will now be reimagined at Altitude’s private dining room, a glass jewel box hovering high above Sydney Harbour. Never before seen in Australia, Moret’s Bonaparte menu will take guests on a multi-sensory journey through a series of elegant courses that embody the terroir and the ceremony of grand French restaurants.

Paying homage to the fashions and heritage of the era, dishes will be served à la française and include Shellfish Bisque with Foie Gras, Cape Grim Filet de Boeuf with Green Peas and Saint Honoré with Wild Berries.

Marrying both Paris and Sydney, each course will be expertly paired with a selection of award-winning Australian wines selected by Altitude sommelier Matt Herod. General Manager Philippe Kronberg is “honoured to present such a unique epicurean adventure, which links two world-renowned cities and two world-renowned hotels, in the fine Shangri-La culinary tradition.”
