Qufu, China, 2 July 2014 – Opened on the blessed morning of 1 August 2013 with the timely arrival of rain and wind, Shangri-La Hotel, Qufu celebrates its first anniversary by introducing a special room package offering both cultural celebration and culinary indulgence for guests to experience an in-depth exploration of the legendary philosopher’s birthplace.

Shangri-La Hotel, Qufu, operating in the hometown of Confucius for almost a year now, is the first Shangri-La hotel to open in a third-tier city.  The hotel has experienced some exciting and challenging moments.  Nevertheless, the hotel has never held back on its efforts to increase awareness of this unique destination where the root of Chinese culture is and to welcome guests from all over the world with the signature Shangri-La hospitality.

The room rates start at RMB918 for a Deluxe Room for one person or RMB1,178 for two persons and RMB1,018 for a Deluxe River View Room for one person or RMB1278 for two persons.  The package includes:
-One-night stay with daily buffet breakfast
-Legendary Kong Family Cuisine dinner at Shang Palace
-Ticket(s) to Confucius Research Institute
-20 per cent off laundry services
-20 per cent off in-room mini-bar beverages and snacks
-Double points for Golden Circle members
-Confucius Talk Show at the hotel’s function room for reservations for check-in on Saturday and Sunday (prior reservation is required upon arrival at the hotel)
