Penang, 5 February 2017 – Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, Penang received its first award during the Lunar Year of the Rooster by winning “Best Resort Hotel” at the INPenang Awards 2017, presented by Penang State EXCO for Tourism Development, the honourable Danny Law and CHT Network president Mr. Ch’ng Huck Theng.

INPenang Awards, founded by CHT Network, is a body created to recognise and award entities that cultivate and support the tourism industry in Penang.  Launched in 2007, INPenang Awards is a significant event in the social calendar that highlights outstanding organisations that achieve success in their respective fields and contribute to the overall good of Penang society.

The awards ceremony was an evening of well-deserved honours, applause and glamour attended by over 400 notable VIPs comprising foreign consulate generals and distinguished guests from various commercial sectors, such as hospitality, travel, health and beauty, automobile, fashion, and food and beverage establishments.
