F.I.P.'s Got Talent Season 2 Competition Ends on a Strong Note

Penang, Malaysia, 18 September 2017 – For the second year is a row, F.I.P. (Fun, Interactive and Play) hosted the highly anticipated finale to its singing competition,  F.I.P.’s Got Talent Season 2. Twelve finalists were selected for the grand finale and intense performances meant that the panel of judges had a challenging time deciding on the winners since all finalists gave their very best. The panels of judges was headed by none other than Dato’ Zainal Abidin who rose to fame as vocalist in the band ‘Headwind’ and later as solo performer in his own right. Others in the panel were Datin Angelina Asmawi, Joshua Tan, Renaldo Scully and Christopher James. After careful deliberation, the winners were announced to rousing applause from the full house live audience at Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa.

The overall Champion is Nurlida ab Raman who walked away with a RM3,000 cash prize, 3 days/2nights stay at Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa inclusive of breakfast for 2 persons, trophy, certificate and a recording session with Hits Recording Studios and an opportunity to perform at Rasa Sayang’s event in the near future. Her winning song was ‘Listen’, originally performed by Beyonce. Next in line is the 1st runner-up comprising of the duo – Jonathan Raj & Somwanny, who walked away with a RM2,000 cash prize, 2 days/1 night stay at Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa inclusive of breakfast for 2 persons. Their winning song was ‘Bang Bang’ originally performed by Ariana Grande/Jessie J/ Nicky Minaj. Finally 2nd runner-up, Intan Ishak walked away a RM1,000 cash prize plus buffet dinner for 2 persons at Spice Market Café. The winning song was ‘Saving All My Love for You’ originally sung by Whitney Houston.

Towards the end of the event, celebrity judge Dato’ Zainal Abidin took over the stage and serenaded several of his iconic hit song including ‘Hijau’, the song that change the Malaysia music industry. F.I.P.’s Got Talent Season 2 co-organised by Maverick Media Productions and sponsored by Absolut is the only known singing competition organised by a 5-star hotel in the region. With the close of the competition, the event has achieved its objective as a showcase of local singing talents. Public interest and the positive word of mouth and press coverage is expected to further raise the profile of F.I.P as a live entertainment venue to elevate the performance of arts in Penang.
