SHANGRI-LA’S LE TOUESSROK RESORT & SPA, MAURITIUS ANNOUNCES ALEXANDRE GIRAUD AS NEW EXECUTIVE CHEF

Mauritius, 25 October 2018 – Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok Resort & Spa, Mauritius announces the appointment of Alexandre Giraud as the resort’s new executive chef. Set to join the team this month, Chef Giraud will be responsible for maintaining high standards within the resort’s culinary department whilst managing a team of chefs, sous-chefs and stewards. He will also work on exciting new culinary experiences, enhancing the resort’s reputation as an international dining hotspot.

Chef Giraud, who is originally from France, has over 18 years of fine-dining experience and has worked at an executive level for some of the world’s leading hotels across Europe, Dubai, Brazil and Mauritius. He has also worked at several Michelin-starred restaurants across the globe, including Le Jardin des Sens in Montpellier and Auberge de la Fenière in Cadenet.

Following his recent position as executive chef at the five-star LUX* Le Morne in Mauritius, where he was responsible for 67 chefs, Chef Giraud is eager to join ShangriLa Hotels and Resorts for a new challenge.

He values authentic Mauritian cuisine and enjoys preparing dishes that evoke the island’s heritage, culture and authenticity. He draws expertise from his extensive travels and highlights the importance of caring for the island through various environmental projects, including the introduction of a programme he designed himself to improve levels of food wastage.

Chef Giraud’s wealth of experience, leadership ability, culinary skillset and innovative mind ensure that he will be a valuable addition to Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok Resort & Spa, Mauritius.
