Shanghai, China, 28 December 2017 – Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai launches the Master Shen’s Treasures on 23 December 2017. In co-operation with Bite of China’s consultant, Mr Shen Hongfei, the hotel set up a station featuring Mr Shen’s recommended specialties at Yi Café.

Mr Shen, the famous Chinese writer, producer and food columnist, was born in Shanghai and lived in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Beijing in his early years. He has become famous for his inspiring, yet unexpected comments on food that appeared in various newspapers and magazines columns, and TV shows in China. The local-born, Canton-nourished foodie brings his highly recommended gastronomies to his station at Yi Café to present an ultimate food experience.

The Master Shen’s Treasures will last a whole year – all of 2018 – and present five to six seasonal dishes recommended by Mr Shen at Yi Café quarterly. In the first quarter of the new year, Mr Shen introduced five festive dishes at his station, including Sister Wang’s Chinese Rice Pudding, Secret-Recipe Roasted Chicken, Guangdong-Style Sausage, Foie Gras Hand Roll with Crab Meat marinated with Rice Wine and Crab Meat and Roe Rice with Italian Vinegar.

The Master Shen’s Treasure is available for lunch and dinner every day from 23 January 2018. Lunch is priced from RMB258 per person and dinner is at RMB348 per person. The rates quoted above are subject to 10 per cent service charge and 6 per cent value-added tax. Yi Café was first launched in 2005 as part of the launch of the Grand Tower of Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai. During its opening, it achieved ground-breaking success that was unprecedented in the culinary scene of Shanghai. Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai is located in the Lujiazui finance and trade district of Pudong (or East Shanghai), which is being developed to become the country’s business hub.
