Lights on, Christmas Season Has Begun

Lights on, Christmas Season Has Begun

Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing held its Christmas tree lighting ceremony in the hotel lobby on the evening of 3 December 2015, witnessed by students from Beijing Qiyin Experimental School for the Deaf, hotel guests, media friends and hotel staff.

As the Christmas carols are sung, another year is about to pass.  The hotel began the season’s celebrations and got into the Christmas festive mood when the lights came on.

Mr. Eric Mommejac, the hotel manager, gave his welcome speech, conveying festive greetings and blessings.

“This Christmas, we received 100 creative paintings from the children of Beijing Qiyin Experimental School for the Deaf, showing the colourful Christmas in their eyes.  These paintings and four sets of postcards made from these paintings will be on sale from tonight, as our charity drive kicks off with the lighting ceremony.  All the proceeds will go towards the support of Beijing Experimental School for the Deaf.”

The hotel staff choir, accompanied by a sign language performance by these special children, started the celebration.

At 6 p.m., the hotel management and the students lit up the splendid Christmas tree together.  This was followed by the servings of sumptuous Christmas delicacies created by the chefs.

Lights on, the Christmas season has begun – a time to pass on blessings.  Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing invites guests to help these less fortunate kids during this time of giving.
