Shangri-la Hotel, Guangzhou recently appointed Rod Szeto as executive assistant manager – food and beverage. A native from Hong Kong, Szeto has been working at hotels, clubs and restaurants in Hong Kong and mainland China throughout his career in the hospitality industry spanning more than 30 years. He was an education specialist at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University - School of Hotel and Tourism Management and holds an executive master’s degree in global hospitality leadership.
Szeto will be in charge of the overall administration and operation of the hotel’s Food and Beverage Division. He is responsible for maintaining the staff’s high-quality performance and ensuring customer satisfaction, reviewing food and beverage cost analysis on a daily basis to maintain budgeted and forecasted figures, ensuring consistency in service, food and beverage quality.
