Shangri-La Hotel, Guangzhou launches its moon-themed mooncake collection with 16 traditional and innovative flavours for guests to choose from. Packed into different kinds of gift boxes and hampers, the moon-themed mooncake collection is the perfect choice to present goodwill to friends and business associates or enjoy during the family gathering.

Strictly following the traditional Cantonese mooncake recipe, the culinary team has chosen the finest lotus seed to grind into paste for mooncakes that tantalise the taste buds with freshness. Some popular flavours from the 2013 collection, such as Lotus Bean Paste with Egg Yolk, Abalone Paste, Mixed Nuts and Ham Paste and Pandan Lotus Bean Paste with Double Egg Yolks, have been included in the new collection.

This year, Shangri-La Hotel, Guangzhou joins hands with Walt Disney to present the Disney Mooncake Collection made with premium cheese for festive delight. It is the first time the two brand names from the hospitality and entertainment industries have worked together to raise brand awareness for each other. To deliver festive fun to the children, the mooncakes are packed in sophisticated boxes printed with classic Disney cartoon figures, including Mickey Mouse, Snow White, Winnie the Pooh and Mickey’s little girlfriend, Minnie.

By successfully integrating the elements of Eastern dining culture and the concept of Western entertainment, children will be able to get to know more about this traditional festival in a fun way; also, the Disney Collection will reacquaint adults with the old days of childish innocence.

The Disney Collection includes Cheese and Blueberry Paste, Cheese and Mango Paste, Cheese and Chocolate Paste and Cheese and Papaya Paste.

In addition to the Disney Collection, new flavours presented for 2014 Mid-Autumn Festival include Momoyama with Jasmine Tea Paste, Momoyama Mooncake with Mango and Egg Yolk Paste, Momoyama Mooncake with Milk and Cherry Paste and Mixed Grain Paste. Momoyama is a newly developed mooncake layer in Momoyama, Japan. Made with kidney bean paste, egg yolk, milk and cream, it is famous for its smooth texture. Special ingredients, such as jasmine and cherry paste, give the mooncakes a refreshing taste. For those concerned about health and nutrition, Mixed Grain Paste is recommended.
