Shangri-La Hotel, Dalian Holds The Third Run For Star Child Awareness Run

On 7 May 2016, Shangri-La Hotel, Dalian held the Run for Star Child awareness run in partnership with the International Club of Dalian for the second year. A total of 400 participants comprising members of the International Club of Dalian and Northeast University of Finance and Economics students and college teachers actively joined the charity run to raise funds and awareness for children with autism. The participants were cheered on by children from Dalian Little Dolphins Recovery Centre, a rehabilitation centre for autistic children.

Thanks to the generous support of and donations from its participants for the past two years, the Charity Run received strong support from Fidelity Business Services, Precor, Kardan Land Asset Management Limited, China Council of Lions Clubs Dalian Branch, Active Lifestyle, Intel Semiconductor. Spring Field, Coca Cola, Wa Haha and Huber Weisses Beer.

With Shangri-La Hotel, Dalian’s support, the Centre is able to send teachers to Beijing to receive the training they needed to better equip themselves in providing children the proper guidance and care. By organizing activities and events, that helped Little Dolphin Recovery Centre with facility upgrades, new study equipment purchase and daily operations. The annual Winter Charity Ball and the annual Run for Star Child have become key events in the city to raise funds and awareness to the cause.
