Kuromatsu, one of Fukuoka’s most sought-after tonkatsu destinations, makes its Hong Kong debut with a limited-time pop-up at Lobby Lounge from 31 August to 6 September. Guests are invited to savour expertly crafted tonkatsu, celebrated for its golden-crisp exterior, tender texture and succulent juiciness.
Renowned for its premium tonkatsu and meticulous craftsmanship, Kuromatsu Daimyo has earned a loyal following in Fukuoka and is often praised by diners as “God-Like Tonkatsu.” With a 3.68 rating on Tabelog, Japan’s leading restaurant review platform, and recognition as a 2026 Tabelog Top 100 Tonkatsu Restaurant, the collaboration will showcase three specially curated set menus, each highlighting different cuts and flavour profiles, along with the brand’s signature focus on premium pork and precise frying technique.
Set 1: Hokkaido Pork Loin Katsu Gozen (250g)
Selected Hokkaido pork loin is served in a thick cut, offering a tender texture and rounded richness without heaviness. Deep-fried at high temperature, it features a golden, crisp exterior while retaining its juicy, succulent interior, delivering a well-balanced bite with satisfying depth. The set is served with miso soup, Fukuoka rice, and Japanese cabbage.
Set 2: Heritage Berkshire Pork Katsu Gozen (200g)
Featuring premium Berkshire pork loin, this cut offers a rich, mellow flavour with delicate sweet-fat notes and a tender, silky texture. Fried until crisp on the outside and juicy within, it highlights the breed’s distinctive depth of flavour, lush marbling, and refined pork aroma. The set is served with miso soup, Fukuoka rice, and Japanese cabbage.
Set 3: Hokkaido Pork Loin Katsu Don (200g)
Hokkaido pork loin katsu is paired with Japanese soft egg and onion, with savoury sauce and egg bringing a warm, layered richness to the dish. Smooth yet well-rounded in texture, it offers a refined and satisfying dining experience for guests who enjoy katsudon-style dishes.
