Summer Palace Relaunches Dim Sum Fest

Yangon, 22 May 2017 - Summer Palace, Sule Shangri-La Yangon's signature Chinese restaurant, brings back the highly popular Dim Sum Festival.

The refreshed dim sum menu brings back some favourites, such as Dough Thick Rice Roll. Sichuan-Style Hot and Sour Soup, Mayonnaise Deep-Fried Prawn with Sesame Seed, Steamed Shrimp Dumpling and Fried Rice Flat Noodles with Beef, Black Bean and Pepper Sauce, to name a few.

To launch the new menu, Summer Palace Chef Nitar Kyaw conducted a weekend dim sum class to showcase the art of dim sum making. Participants tried their hand at creating Pork Dumpling, Shrimp Dumpling and Deep-Fried Sugar Cane Dumpling. At the end of the class, the best student walked away with a special gift from Summer Palace.

Originally a Cantonese custom, dim sum is linked to the Chinese tradition of drinking tea. Literally meaning "to touch your heart", dim sum consists of a variety of dumplings, steamed dishes and other goodies.

With more than 50 items on the Dim Sum Festival menu, dinners will enjoy an all-you-can-eat dim sum lunch for only US$18 net per person. The Dim Sum Fest is available daily for lunch until the end of August.
