Short Term Project (1)  

  • Q4 2009 - False ceiling roof to be installed for protection against heat. Proposal has been approved. 
  • May 2010 - False ceiling roof has been installed through charity boxes from guest and staff of Sule Shangri-La, Yangon. Total expense was US$ 3,800.   

Long Term Project (1) 

  • 2010 onwards - Support school teachers' uniform and donate students text books, exercise books, pencils and rulers to 600 students 

Long Term Project (2)  

  • Q4  2009 - Library drawing has been approved 
  • 2011 - Library build up at Sasana Hita Kari Pri Yatti Monastery Education Center Compound 
  • 2012 - Librarian to be trained for setting up library together with Traders Hotel, Yangon, team 
  • 2012 onwards - Provide knowledgeable books which are suitable for Kindergarten to 7th grade students and continuous support for new books to upgrade and create valuable library to all different level of students.    

Long Term Project (3) 

  • Q4 2009 - Clinic drawing has been approved 
  • 2011 - Clinic build up at Sasana Hita Kari Pri Yatti Monastery Education Center Compound 
  • 2012 onwards - 3 Volunteers Doctors will be in the clinic for students minor sickness and Hotel Hygiene Manager will conduct regular health education to students 
  • 2012 onwards - Monthly medical supply to clinic and visit to clinic for hygiene and sanitation check up by Sule Shangri-La, Yangon, team   

Long Term Project (4)  

Since Q4 2009, students who pass their matriculation exam from Monastery Education Center are developed under Local Talent Development Training Program. Every year, 10 students are targeted to be trained for Service Associate Level to Middle East Hotels.   

Commitment to PWD employees in Traders Hotel, Yangon 

Since 2008, we are committed to hiring people with disabilities (PWD) to fill positions in departments such as Stewarding, Kitchen and Human Resources. One steward staff is working at Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai, as a group transfer staff. 1.18% of all staff are PWD at Sule Shangri-La, Yangon.
