Taipei, October 9, 2015 – As Spain celebrates its National Day this month, Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Taipei launches a series of activities themed “I Need Spain” to bring guests abundant festive Spain delicacies at Café at Far Eastern (6F) from Oct. 9 to 18.  There will also be a luxurious wine dinner set menu at Marco Polo Restaurant (38F) on Oct. 16 and 17 to give valuable guests time to spend with guest chef Sergio Garrido Cantero from five-star resort Hotel Vincci Seleccion Posada del Pati. Chef Sergio was originally invited by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan to organize the state banquet in celebration of Spain’s National Day.  To share the joyful mood, the chef especially decided to be the hotel’s guest chef during his stay in Taiwan and bring mouthwatering flavors to more diners in Taipei.

“I want to show my passion for Spanish cuisine and hope to showcase how different cultures blend in this unique dining culture.  I wish that guests can experience my motherland when sampling these delicacies and truly feel touched by my cuisine,” Chef Sergio said.

During the promotion, guests can savor tasty Spanish dishes ranging from Seafood Paella, Cured Ham Terrine, Iberian Pork Loin and Green Apple, Spanish Stewed Oxtail and more at Café at Far Eastern.  In addition, Marco Polo Restaurant will present an additional exclusive offer on Oct. 17 to 18.

Chef Sergio will pair premiere wines with Baby Pork with Tamale of Corn, Pears with Thyme and Apple Caviar, Pumpkin and White Chocolate Mousse over Brownie Chocolate Earth and more.

To share great cuisine and joy, the hotel also launches activity on social media. From Oct.9-18, guests can get a chance to win Spanish meal at Café at Far Eastern everyday by following the hotel’s Line@ on
