Committed to providing guests with unsurpassed experience whilst keeping close to our corporate social responsibility, the Kerry Hotel Pudong launches a Pink October activities campaign which will conclude with Guinness World Records™ Largest ball pit attempt on 30 October.
In line with “Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” the Pink October campaign aims to spread awareness across both the local and expatriate population and encourages women to be proactive in the prevention of breast cancer. Kerry Hotel Pudong will join hands with More Than Aware again this year and the theme is Surviving, Thriving, Diving into life.
The hotel has developed a daily events and promotions calendar that offers special Pink October promotions and fun activities including:
A Pink facial at The Spa, Kerry Sports Pink exercise classes, complimentary glass of sparkling rosé prosecco or rose hip tea in The Lounge on Tuesdays, pink cider in The BREW and free-flowing sparkling rosé will be provided during the Champagne Sunday Brunch and the chefs and staff will get into the Pink spirit on Fridays and Saturdays. Pink October will also be cascaded to the staff with activities and breast cancer awareness lectures to the staff.
On 26 October, Kerry Hotel will hold a Pink Bazzar with 40 retail vendors in the courtyard of Kerry Parkside. On this day the hotel will organise the “Pledge Your Ponytail” hair-cutting event. The hotel has invited professional hair studios to give complimentary hair cuts to women willing to pledge six or more inches of their hair to make wigs for women battling cancer.
The Think Pink theme builds during the month to a Charity luncheon on 30 October and Kerry Hotel is proud to partner with the “More Than Aware” charity organization again this year and be the home to the annual luncheon. The luncheon aims to facilitate greater dialogue around women’s health issues in Shanghai, and ultimately across China. All proceeds from the fundraiser go to the Shanghai Cancer Recovery Club (SHCRC).
During the lunch on the 30 October the Hotel will hold Guinness World Records breaking event. The hotel will empty its 25 meter swimming pool and fill it up with one million pink and green bubble balls. With the support of “More Than Aware”, the hotel expects to gather a group of participants to enter this bubble ball pool. Three hundred of the guests are recovering cancer patients volunteered from SHCRC and will be joined by invited media and Pink October friends. This will break Guinness World Records Largest ball pit in the world. The Bubble Balls go on sale on 1 October at the Hotel and throughout the community for RMB 35 per 100 balls and proceeds from the sale will benefit breast cancer education, awareness and action.
