6 December 2013
Shanghai, China, 6 December 2013 – On the 161th day after opening its doors, Jing An Shangri-La, West Shanghai inaugurated its first Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Bathed in the tree’s emanating radiance and sweeping through a romantic atmosphere of swirling snowflakes, Santa Claus descended from the sky onto the hotel’s courtyard plaza, imparting warm holiday wishes to an enraptured crowd below. With the lights on, a gift was also presented to Shanghai – the Calypso Mediterranean restaurant to be opened with great mysterious allure on 22 December.
Just coming under the frigid spell of winter, Shanghai remains dazzling and expectant of one of the most Western and most highly anticipated of holidays: Christmas.
In the continued spirit of corporate social responsibility, the hotel also extended an invitation to the tree lighting ceremony to the Children's Hospital of Fudan University, welcoming young patients, their family members and medical staff. In doing so, the hotel expressed its fervent desire to help the sick children, sending them heartfelt wishes for speedy recoveries.
From 6 December 2013 until 1 January, 2014, the hotel’s food and beverage outlets, Café Liang, Summer Palace Chinese Restaurant and The 1515 WEST, Chophouse & Bar, are promoting their special “White Christmas” gourmet gift packages, which make for ideal holiday greetings to loved ones.
Throughout the Christmas season, the vibrant atmosphere and delicious dining will illuminate a sense of bright hopes for the future. This Christmas, Jing An Shangri-La, West Shanghai invites guests to spend a heart-warming holiday season.
