Golden Sands Resort Penang Wins Best Hotel Services For Malaysia Tourism Awards

Golden Sands Resort, Penang was awarded "Best Hotel Services" (for all star ratings) under the four-star resorts category by the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism at the recent 19th Malaysia Tourism Awards 2014/2015 held at Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur.  

The much anticipated Malaysia Tourism Awards are the highest accolades given by the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism to only the best players in the industry that offer quality and excellent services to their guests.   

This is the eigth time Golden Sands  Resort has won this accolade. The previous wins were in 1988, 2001/2002, 2003, 2004, 2010/2011 and 2012/2013 and 2014. Golden Sands has to contend for the position among hundreds of 4-star resorts throughout Malaysia.   

Since its inception in 1980, Golden Sands Resort has built a reputation as an international four-star deluxe resort along the prime location of Batu Feringgi Beach. For the past few years, it has been positioned as a family-friendly resort winning multiple international awards. The resort is part of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts chain and is rated as a four-star deluxe resort.   

Golden Sands Resort, Penang won the most points against its competitors of the same calibre.  Nominees were evaluated on overall efficiency, courtesy and hospitality related qualities in the areas of hotel operations for front and back of the house such as reservation, reception, guest relations, telephone operations, bell services, laundry, housekeeping, security, food and beverage, interior decoration, uniforms, cleanliness and maintenance. Other factors included value-for-money and overall ambience.
