Ningbo, China, 29 November 2013 – Shangri-La Hotel, Ningbo holds its fifth annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the hotel’s Lobby Lounge. This year’s tree lighting ceremony features a unique three-metre-high cupcake tower composed of 2,014 cupcakes and a visit from Santa Claus.
Charity is a traditional theme of the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Shangri-La Hotel, Ningbo. The Christmas of 2013 starts from a little cupcake that is sweet, lovely and full of family atmosphere, while 2,014 pieces of little cupcakes represent the infinite power of love. All revenue from the cupcake sales will be donated to Siming Primary Mountain School, the hotel’s Embrace Programme recipient, to improve its learning facilities.
The new Christmas season comes with the visit from Santa Claus, the kids’ happiness upon receiving gifts and a live performance by the kids’ choir. On 24 December 2013, Executive Chef Ruediger Lurz will personally create a traditional Christmas feast. It will be a memorable night for families, friends and loved ones.
