Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort & Spa, Maldives Welcomes New General Manager Philippe Claverotte

Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort & Spa, Maldives is delighted to announce the appointment of Philippe Claverotte as the new General Manager of the hotel. A French national, Philippe has enjoyed a 23 year long career in luxury hotel management and is now looking forward to a new and exciting chapter at Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort & Spa. As General Manager, Philippe Claverotte will be responsible for the management of the 132-villa property, including the 60 Water Villas and two exclusive Presidential Villas, as well as overseeing all operations and teams within the hotel.

Philippe Claverotte’s remarkable attention to detail and hands on approach ensures that he is positioned to lead the team at Shangri-La’s Villingili. For the last six years, he has been General Manager at Hotel Chateau Royal Beach Resort and Spa in New Caledonia which saw Philippe Claverotte establish the hotel as a luxury and sophisticated destination, for both international guests and local regulars. Prior to this, he was General Manager at Sofitel Bora Bora French Polynesia. Philippe Claverotte’s wealth of knowledge and expertise means that he will be an invaluable addition to Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort & Spa, Maldives. His leadership, enthusiasm and training skills will continue to showcase the hotel as one of the large, leading luxury hotels in the Maldives. Commenting on his new appointment, Philippe Claverotte enthuses: “I am excited to be joining such an iconic brand and to be part of the team at one of its flagship properties.
