Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta Celebrates RISING50 with Singapore Culinary Week

Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta celebrates 50 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Singapore through the love of food from 7 to 13 August 2017.  SATOO, the hotel’s International buffet restaurant, will showcase an array of Singapore’s best dishes prepared by talented Singaporean chef Mazlan Boyamin.  Guests may indulge in a selection of the best Singapore dishes that will surely enrich their gastronomic insight.
 
A Singaporean native, Chef Mazlan is the country’s reputable chef with over 17 years of culinary experience.  He is armed with an advanced culinary placement diploma from At-Sunrice Global Chef Academy, Johnson and Wales University, College of Culinary Arts.  He is also a private chef and culinary instructor for various institutions in Singapore.  Over the years, he has served up a cuisine to the Singaporean president at Istana and to foreign dignitaries.
 
Singapore’s multi-cultural diversity is reflected in the variety of local dishes it has to offer – from Chinese to Malay, Indian to Peranakan. SATOO’s menu includes Singaporean dishes inspired by the country’s famous eateries and hawker stalls, which are famous in the Singaporean culinary scene.
 
The menus include Singapore’s all-time favorite food such as Hainanese Chicken Rice, Singapore Laksa, Char Kway Teow, Fried Carrot Cake, Oyster Omelette, Crab with various sauces and Mantao Bun, Roti John, Sambal Sting Ray, Kueh Pie Tie, Popiah and many others. Some Singaporean beverages that will be available are the Chin Chow Soy Beans, Milo Dinosaurs, Tea Tarik, Air Bandung, Bubble Tea, Limau Ais, Manggo Mint Lasi and selection of Singapore coffees.
 
This exciting SATOO buffet offer starts from Rp 298,000++ per person and will be available for lunch and dinner.
 
Rosso, hotel’s Italian restaurant will also participate in this culinary excitement by presenting a special fusion Italian and Singaporean menu. Italian Chef Gianfranco Pirrone has crafted fusion menu such as Tagliolini Laksa Singapore; Chilli Crab and Salted Egg Bruschetta; Spaghetti Mee Mamak; and Wrapped Smoked Duck with Basil Pesto Sauce. To complete this fusion experience, a refreshing Singapore Sling is available on the menu list.
 
While Jia, the Chinese restaurant is preparing a special Bak Kut Teh menu for the week.
