Rosso Presents Indonesian-Italian Wine Dinner with William Wongso

Rosso, the Italian restaurant at Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, invites culinary lovers to experience a six-course Indonesian-Italian wine dinner on Friday, 6 July 2018. Celebrating the marriage of Indonesian and Italian cuisine, the menu will be personally curated by Indonesian food ambassador William Wongso in collaboration with Rosso’s Italian chef, Gianfranco Pirrone. Their flavourful dishes will be accompanied by a fine wine selection from Ferrer Family Wines.

This wine dinner is part of the hotel’s ‘Taste of Indonesia’ campaign event.  The menu combines a mix of locally sourced Indonesian ingredients and Italian produce using several traditional Indonesian cooking techniques and spices.

The feast will be preceded by an appetiser of Gohu Asinan Jakarta (Moluccas Tuna Ceviche with Jakarta Pickled Fruit Salad) paired with NV, Segura Viudas Brut Rosado Cava, Catalonia, Spain and a soup of Zuppa di Pesce (Grilled Shrimp, Mussel, Squid, Octopus, Clam and Lobster Bisque) paired with 2016, Solar Viejo, Viura and Chardonnay, Rioja DOCA, Spain.

Rosso will also serve Risotto Cumi Item Pekalongan (Black Spiced Squid and Scallop Risotto with Spirulina Sauce) paired 2015, Solar Viejo, Tempranillo, Rioja DOCA, Spain.

For the main course, both culinary experts will prepare Gulai Itik Foie Gras Daun Singkong (Duck Breast and Foie Gras, Cassava Leaves and Curry Angel Hair) paired with 2014, Mas de Subira, Crianca, Priorat DOQ, Spain and Filetto di Agnello e Cannelloni Agli Spinaci (Herb-Crusted Lamb Loin and Porcini Mushroom with Spinach Cannelloni) paired with 2010, Morlanda, Vi de Guarda, Priorat DOQ, Catalunya, Spain.

Guests can finally indulge in a decadent Tertella di Banana e Gelato Alla Vaniglia (Banana Chocolate Tarte, Piedmont Hazelnut Shortbread, Javanese Vanilla Ice-Cream) with NV, Segura Viudas Demi Sec, Catalonia, Spain for the sweet ending.

This exquisite dinner is priced at Rp 888,000++ per person.
