B.A.T.S. Introduces New Menu

B.A.T.S. Introduces New Menu

B.A.T.S. (Bar and Restaurant At The Shangri-La) embraces the coming of a new year with an exciting new menu by presenting a range American dishes options with oversized portions that signify B.A.T.S. creations.

B.A.T.S., already famous for its steaks, introduces more exciting selections on its menu.  The restaurant’s largest steak options are the Stockyard Cowboy Steak and the Garlic-Rubbed US Porterhouse.  The Stockyard Cowboy Steak offers 1-kilogram bone in rib eye with the raw bone attached.  This robust steak is tender, juicy and big enough to feed the hungriest cowboy.  The Garlic-Rubbed U.S. Porterhouse presents 400 grams of oversized T-shaped bone with meat on each side, cut from the rear end of the short loin and has more tenderloin steak, along with a large strip steak on the other side of the bone.

Other astonishing steaks available are the Australian 300-Day Grain-Fed Beef, Ranger Valley, grade nine Australian Wagyu beef and US Chilled Prime Beef.

Ranger Valley cattle are Black Angus Steers that are selected for their superior marbling qualities.  The cattle are fed slower (300 days on grain) on a specially designed diet that focuses on slower growth to further enhance the beef’s natural flavour and tenderness.  Guests can enjoy three different cuts, the 280-gram tenderloin, 340-gram rib eye and the 280-gram strip loin.

Wagyu beef consists of high levels of fine white flecks of fat that weave throughout the textured meat.  This effect is known as ‘marbling’, which makes the meat extremely tender and gives it a deliciously sweet taste.

In Australia, Wagyu beef is graded with a marbling score of zero to nine; the higher the score, the more intramuscular fat and the more expensive.  B.A.T.S. offers grade nine Australian Wagyu beef in two different cuts – the 220-gram tenderloin and 250-gram rib eye.

By popular demand, B.A.T.S. brings back the US Chilled Prime Beef in three kinds of cuts, the 220-gram tenderloin ‘lady cut’, 300-gram rib eye and 240-gram strip loin.

All B.A.T.S. char-grilled options are seared to guests’ liking in a lava stone broiler and served with options of sauce and sides.  For the sauce, guess can choose black pepper, mushroom, J.D. BBQ, red wine and lemon butter.  For the sides, guests can choose from Sautéed Mushroom, Grilled Seasonal Vegetables, Creamed Spinach, French Fries, Country-Style Potato Wedges, Cajun Curly Fries, Mashed Potato, Baked Potato with Sour Cream, Bacon and Scallion, Side Salad and the new Filled Baked Potato with Broccoli Cheese.

For new appetisers and sharing dishes, B.A.T.S. offers one of the most popular Mexican food, nachos, which are served with melted cheese, refried beans and traditional condiments.  New additions to the appetiser menu is the B.A.T.S. Spicy Buffalo Wings, a dozen chicken wings marinated in the B.A.T.S. signature spicy sauce and served with homemade barbeque sauce.

Guests should not missed the B.A.T.S. Wagyu and Brie Burger with a 300-gram Wagyu beef served in a square bun with brie and caramelised onion, with options of French fries or assorted green gardens on the side.

These options may be enjoyed with the B.A.T.S. classic and favourite dishes, such as the slow-roasted J.D. Pork “Baby Backs”, Braised Lamb Shank, 17-inch thin crust pizzas, Penne Aurora, Surf and Turf, Half Herb-Roasted Chicken and Baked Chocolate Brownies.

To enhance the guests’ dining experience, B.A.T.S. offers value-added beverage options.  From 5 to 8.30 p.m., guests may enjoy Bintang beer served in a special 3-litre tower for only Rp250,000nett and a free flow of ice tea and soft drinks for Rp. 75,000++.

B.A.T.S. brings New York underground vibes to the bustling city of Jakarta.  Located on the first floor of Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, it reflects the ambience of the Big Apple at night using decorative touches, such as nailed metal ceilings and raw red bricks that dominate the walls.

The dynamic bar offers guests a lively dining and hang-out venue.  It is well known for serving large portions, from starters to desserts.  Guests may also enjoy a variety of inimitable drinks at B.A.T.S., while the international home band is always ready to rock the night with the crowd.  B.A.T.S. international home band plays Monday to Saturday from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

For guests who prefer an early night’s start and for resident hotel guests seeking light entertainment after office hours, the B.A.T.S. Happy Hour offers 50 per cent discount on house pour brands and wines, as well as juices and soft drinks from 5 to 8.30 p.m.  Oversized portions of B.A.T.S. food are available for dinner from 7 to 10 p.m.  Seating more than 200 people, B.A.T.S. is open nightly from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
