Shangri-La Singapore, our first hotel, is a lush urban oasis in the heart of the city. It is renowned for its tropical sanctuary, culinary expertise and exceptional service, all thoughtfully connected to Singapore’s multicultural identity. For more than 50 years, this beloved hotel has gracefully balanced modernity and tradition while caring for its community and environment.

The hotel proudly supports children and elderly people in the local neighbourhood and follows robust environmental and safety standards. Its commitment to sustainability is recognised through certifications including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, the Singapore Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Green Mark, and, most recently, certification from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).

Our 5 Key Initiatives
Our 5 Key Initiatives

Shangri-La Singapore's Commitment to 5 Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives:

Environment
Shangri-La Singapore is committed to serving as good stewards of the environment and the hotel mitigates impacts on the environment by ensuring that our day-to-day operations promote and implement responsible environmental practices and continuous improvement.

Health and Safety
Shangri-La Singapore ensures that only the high standards of health and safety are maintained for the benefit of all our stakeholders. This includes overall food safety systems, hygiene and sanitation standards. In addition, various security and safety initiatives are customized and implemented by the hotel based on timely assessments of local situations.

Employees
Hospitality from the heart is exemplified in our every smile and gesture. Our employees are our partners in delivering the high standards of service and comfort. As a family, the hotel is an equal opportunity employer that embraces diversity in the workplace. We do not engage in or tolerate unlawful workplace conduct, discrimination, intimidation or harassment. Fair labour practices are applied across all employees, exceeding local standards and regulations.

Supply Chain
Shangri-La Singapore is committed to working with business partners who share the values of corporate citizenship, respect for the environment, human rights and social justice. Whenever possible, the hotel prefers local community-based suppliers and eco-friendly products to promote growth and development in the communities in which it operates.

Stakeholder Relations
The group aims to always engage the stakeholders in a clear, honest and respectful way. Regular dialogue is conducted with corporate and preferred clients, suppliers, concessionaires and the local community to better address issues that confront our properties.

Savour
Savour

The hotel is dedicated to helping guests savour their time with us, from memorable dining to a series of engaging, themed family suites. These educational, story-driven suites offer safe, independent spaces that spark children’s curiosity while their parents unwind nearby.

We also strive to bring an authentic taste of traditional Singapore to our guests. Hawker food is a window into the Singaporean soul, and we are proud to partner with some of the city’s most renowned hawker stalls so guests can enjoy this famous fare in the comfort of the hotel. Options include local favourites, such as beef rendang, katong laksa and prawn noodle soup, alongside a wide selection of other Chinese, Indonesian and Peranakan classics. Thanks to our Rooted in Nature programme, many dishes feature local and sustainably sourced ingredients, and the hotel is delighted to be recognised by the Singapore Food Agency’s Farm-to-Table Recognition Programme.

We encourage all our employees and local communities to unleash their potential and shine. At Shangri-La Singapore, our teams regularly take part in a wide range of volunteering activities, including cancer charity runs, hospitality student mentorships, food bank donations and neighbourhood clean-ups, contributing time and skills where they are most needed.

The hotel also welcomes the community into its family-friendly spaces. In 2024, it hosted special activities for underprivileged children and their parents, giving families the chance to relax, play and create cherished memories together – a reflection of our long-term commitment to caring for people and place.

Stay
Stay
At Shangri-La Singapore, a more sustainable stay starts in every guestroom. We have eliminated single-use plastics by switching to large-format amenity bottles and installing filtered water dispenser so guests can refill rather than rely on bottled water.
