Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur’s annual charity project Embrace the Gift of Life was initiated in 1985 to support children with severe heart ailments and other serious medical conditions. To date, the hotel has raised over RM5 million and support hundreds of critically ill children through this charity project.
Embrace The Gift Of Life
For this festive season, we encourage everyone to embrace the gift of life through the Enchanted Christmas Charity Tree campaign to support children with severe heart ailments by purchasing the ornaments with a minimum donation of RM1100 each.
In the month of June, 100 packed lunch sets were distributed to the underprivileged through Kechara Soup Kitchen - a not-for-profit and non-governmental organisation serving marginalized communities in Malaysia for over 14 years.
To support breast cancer awareness month and raise funds for Breast Cancer Awareness Malaysia, mammogram pledge to support women under the B40 groups to get tested, as early detection saves lives.
The hotel contributed 5% from the sales of the Pink Afternoon tea and goodies and full proceeds from Bowerhaus Pink Courage to the cause.
Since the inception of COVID-19, frontliners throughout Malaysia have been working tirelessly to help curb the spread of the virus. To express our gratitude for their sacrifices, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur are contributing the following from July - August 2021:

World Food Safety Day
Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur celebrated the annual World Food Safety Day on 7 June to draw attention and mobilize action to prevent, detect and manage foodborne risks and improve human health.
Together with Malaysian Red Crescent Society, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur provided essential items such as clothes, canned food, rice personal care items and more, to those who were affected by the recent floods.
