Shangri-La Hotel, Suzhou Brings Oriental Wellness Therapy

Shangri-La Hotel, Suzhou brings a new concept Oriental Wellness Therapy at its Spa and Health Club. This spa experience is currently available through an exclusive offer at RMB628 net per 60 minutes (originally priced at RMB680 and subject to 15 per cent service charge) or RMB900 per 90 net per minutes (originally priced at RMB 980 and subject to 15 per cent service charge) before 31 August 2014.

Inspired by traditional Asian well-being therapy, Oriental Wellness Therapy combines highly effective Tuina, Shiatsu and Meridian Stretching Techniques with Western oil massage. The fluid massage technique helps relax and ease one’s nerves; the calming massage works on the skin at an acupoint, enabling a deep sense of balance and harmony.

The Oriental Meridian Massage is derived from Inner Canon of Huangdi, while Western Oil Massage relaxes one’s body with essential oil made from bio-ingredients and used in a velvety soft massage. Notably, the vata massage oil used during therapy consists of numerous amino acids, wheat protein and almond oil, which are good at balancing the body’s inner yin and yang.

“Modern workaholics are facing computers for a long time or with frequent travelling, and they get neck muscle fatigue, more or less. Oriental Wellness Therapy will smooth one’s meridian, relieve muscles and create an oasis of relaxation journey,” said Susanna Li, hotel general manager.

The Spa and Health Club on level five of Shangri-La Hotel, Suzhou is equipped with six tranquil treatment rooms, among them one double luxurious treatment room. Its soft lighting, refreshing aroma and tranquil atmosphere make it an ideal place for people to get away from the busy life, be relieved of pressure and ease their state of mind.

The Spa and Health Club’s holistic spa products, combined with natural substances and plant-based protective mechanisms with active ingredients derived through biotechnology, help achieve total well-being. The energising and assorted facial and body treatments, matched with professional therapists’ massage and care, soothe the body, mind and soul.

The Spa and Health Club operates from 10 a.m. until midnight. It has won the Annual Spa Therapy award from Asian SPA magazine in 2008. Spa memberships are available for spa enthusiasts to enjoy more privileges and benefits.
