Beijing, 23 June 2014 – Leading Munich-based bartender Cihan Anadologlu from Germany will visit Atmosphere at China World Summit Wing, Bejing from 13 to 17 August from Munich’s Schumann’s Bar am Hofgarten – a bar that has been serving high-quality beverages for over 30 years.
Cihan is head barman at Schumann Bar, which is consistently voted one of the world’s best bars for its to-die-for cocktails. Come 12 August 2014 and for four nights only, Anadologlu will showcase his delectable drinks to the privileged punters of the plush Atmosphere Bar.
Cihan hails from Heidenheim, a historic city in Germany’s southern Baden-Württemberg state, but has been living in Bavaria’s capital for over a decade. The multi-linguist – he speaks German, Turkish and English – has worked and lived across the globe, including New York, London and Hong Kong.
Anadologlu – a veritable scholar of drinks – has in his personal collection over 700 books ranging from the history of the bar, cocktails and bar design to the world’s different cuisines. He has spent years working in various Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, which in turn gave him a love for different styles of cuisines. His culinary trips to more than 30 countries have made him an expert on all things food and beverage.
Cihan has made guest appearances at bars and restaurants as a consultant and has a plethora of experiences and contacts at the finest distilleries. He is also a winner of the Grey Goose Global 10 competition held in the Cognac region of France.
Although the Münchner does not often compete in cocktail competitions, he was invited last year by Bacardi to represent Germany at the World Finals for Grey Goose in France – Cognac. His creation was made an official cocktail at this year’s Academy Awards in Los Angeles.
So dedicated he is to the craft of concocting that he has his own philosophy of bartending: like all great chefs, it is to create an incredible flavour with the very best ingredients and let quality speak for itself.
“The most important part of bartending is always your guest; you must never forget who are you working for and why,” Cihan said. “We are working – in my opinion – in the best job in the world. And it is still not a just a job – it is passion and love. I try to celebrate every day ‘The artistry of mixing drinks’.”
