Makati Shangri-La, Manila Celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival with a Variety of Mooncake Flavors

Manila, 25 July 2013 – Makati Shangri-La, Manila celebrates the Mid-Autumn festival with a delectable variety of classic, snowskin and custard mooncakes that guests may enjoy from August 1 to September 20, 2013.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, popularly known as the Mooncake Festival, is one of the grandest festivals celebrated in China. Family members gather and feast on this delicacy to express their love for each other and their hope for a happy life. Guests are invited to commemorate this festival by indulging in a variety of mooncake flavors, such as Red Bean, Mixed Nuts and Yunnan Ham, White Lotus. For a healthier alternative, guests may choose the White Lotus with 30% less sugar in mini or traditional sizes.  

In addition, Makati Shangri-La presents new mooncake flavors such as the Mini Sweet and Creamy Custard with Mashed Salted Egg, and the Mini Snowskin with a selection of Green Tea, Chinese Plum and Baiju (Chinese Spirit), Kape Barako (a variety of coffee beans grown in the Philippines), or X. O. Chocolate Truffle.     

The mini mooncakes are priced at PHP 388++, a single traditional mooncake is PHP 588++, eight pieces of mini mooncakes in a rectangular box is  PHP 1,988++, four pieces of traditional sized mooncakes in a square box or the two tier deluxe moon cake box is at PHP 3,688++. Guests may have the mooncakes individually wrapped or placed in intricately designed boxes.

For guests who would like to relax and unwind at the Lobby Lounge, they may indulge in the seasonal Mooncake High Tea that includes an assortment of Steamed Mantou with Crab Meat Salad, Chinese Peking Duck Salad in Pie Tee, Baked BBQ Chicken Bun, Sesame Prawn Ball with Ginger Sauce, together with mooncake flavors such as the Mixed Nuts and Yunnan Ham, White Lotus, or Snowskin Green Tea and X.O. Chocolate Truffle. 

Guests may avail of the special early bird discount of 25% when they place their mooncake orders between July 24 and August 24, 2013. A special discount will also be offered for orders of 25 or more boxes.
