Makati Shangri-La, Manila strongly believes in continuously contributing positive action to the environment in which it operates. Under the umbrella of “sustainability,” the hotel’s social responsibility programme focuses on the element of embrace. “Embrace” focuses on Shangri-La’s Care for People Project, which aims to promote the highest level of education and health support in underprivileged communities.
To date, the hotel has been supporting nine children who have been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Non habdomyosarcoma or Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Eight children have been undergoing chemotherapy at different doses and stages at the tender age of six and seven, while one child has suffered third degree burns and is undergoing skin grafting.
