Lobster Bar and Grill Hosts A Gastronomic Expedition With Italian Chef Alfio Ghezzi From The Michelin-Starred Locanda Margon

Lobster Bar and Grill at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong presents Executive Chef Alfio Ghezzi of the Cantine Ferrari Winery and Michelin-starred Locanda Margon in Italy to delight gastronomes with his tantalising creations from 8 to 13 October 2013.

Diners will have the pleasure of savouring Chef Ghezzi’s innovative dishes that are uniquely infused with Cantine Ferrari’s exquisite sparkling wines, an eminence that the restaurant prides itself on. Such delectable creations include Felietti Spaghetti with Ferrari Perlé 2006, and Blanc de Blanc - Fresh Salted Codfish and Chardonnay Vichyssoise, the chef says are “born to be paired with sparkling wines”. For this promotion, Chef Ghezzi has also brought along produce from such places as the Mediterranean Sea and the Alps, as well as an ingredient unique to the Michelin-starred restaurant, the Locanda Margon ham, made from young full-blooded Cinta Senese pigs bred from Tuscany, and used to flavour a soup served with Sicilian red shrimps. On 10 October, an exclusive wine dinner will be held for wine connoisseurs, complete with a four-course menu marrying a series of sparkling wines from the celebrated Cantine Ferrari. Moreover, Mr Matteo Lunelli, heir of the winery will grace diners with his ample knowledge of Trento D.O.C. sparkling wines and his personal introduction to the finest vintages. About Chef Alfio Ghezzi
Chef Ghezzi believes that the best cuisine should be the ones that are simple, yet able to preserve the integrity of the ingredients employed. He added that “courses are able to convey the beauty and the complexity of Italian cuisine.” In addition to pairing, with the world’s finest sparkling wines under his fingertips as an advantage, he utilised Locanda Margon as his gastronomic arena to master the art of transitioning the bubbles into his innovative dishes.

Prior to moving to Locanda Margon, Chef Ghezzi worked at the Hosteria dell’Orso in Rome and the Casinò Les Princes in Cannes under two great masters of Italian cuisine, Gualtiero Marchesi and Andrea Berton.  With a diploma in hospitality management, he started his career as a commis chef and chef de partie in various prestigious hotels in Italy; he was also a vocational mentor. 

About Locanda Margon
Locanda Margon is three kilometres from the Ferrari Trento winery, donned with contemporary décor and a magnificent terrace overlooking the Adige Valley. The restaurant prides itself on its fascinating and innovative pairing of the local cuisine with the magical delights of various versions of Trento DOC, an appellation for white and rosé sparking wine made in Trentino, Italy. In 2011, Locanda Margon was awarded a Michelin star and is, according to the La Guida delle Guide, the number one restaurant in Trentino and among the top 100 in Italy.
