On 25 July 2013, the “Let Love Continue” painting and artwork charity auction was held at Shangri-La Hotel, Guilin. Hundreds of entrepreneurs and people involved in charity work were invited to participate in the event. All proceeds raised will be used for the medical treatment of patients suffering with uraemia.
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has been actively practicing its own corporate social responsibility (CSR) since the brand was founded, and has unified all initiatives within the five key areas of the environment, health and safety, employees, supply chain and stakeholder relations under the umbrella of sustainability. As a very important part of CSR, the “embrace” programme aims to help vulnerable groups access better education and health services.
Shangri-La Hotel, Guilin is committed to CSR activities. The “Let Love Continue” charity auction took place in the Junior Ballroom at Shangri-La Hotel, Guilin. Fourteen artists donated more than 80 paintings and calligraphy for exhibition and auction, and the hotel donated for auction two vouchers for stays in one of the hotel’s Deluxe River Rooms. During the auction, Rmb24,000 was bid for a 10-metre painting completed by 10 artists on the spot.
