For a decade, Shangri-La Sydney has been at the forefront of the beekeeping movement, proudly standing as the first five-star hotel in the city to embrace this sustainability initiative.
Our partnership with Rooftop Bees has allowed us to raise awareness about the vital role bees play within our ecosystem.
With six beehives on our level three rooftop, our urban bee colony has produced 2,700 kilograms of raw, unfiltered honey since the project's inception.
The exotic trees and flowers in the historic Rocks precinct and our proximity to Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens imbue our honey with a unique flavour.
Our pure, unfiltered honey not only elevates our culinary creations but is also available for guests to purchase, allowing them to take home a sweet memento of our sustainability efforts.
We invite our guests to indulge in an authentic hive-to-table experience at Shangri-La Sydney.
This apiary initiative is part of Shangri-La's signature Sanctuary, our Care for Nature Programme, which is dedicated to promoting the conservation and restoration of biodiversity while encouraging climate action.
