Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai, celebrated the festive season with its second Charity Santa Run, which was held in Lujiazui on 27 November 2016.
The charity run was a festive effort to support children suffering from leukaemia at the Children's Hospital of Fudan University. For seven years, Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai, has partnered with the hospital to provide the children with financial support.
The hotel hopes to gather everyone in Lujiazui, not just runners, to promote a healthy lifestyle and celebrate the festive season in the future. The run's course passed by skyscrapers, walkways and the river. Participants were able to admire the magnificent view across The Bund while spreading festive cheer and singing Christmas carols along the way.
Adult participants in the Charity Santa Run were charged RMB 188 and given a T-shirt, duffel bag, festive cookies, healthy breakfast, hotel gourmet passport valued at RMB 1,000, Santa hat and other surprises. Children aged 8 to 16 years were charged only RMB 128 each, while those under 8 years old were allowed to run for fee exempted. Both 5km and 10km routes were available. Participants were encouraged to show up in their favorite Christmas outfit and show Lujiazui their festive spirit.
The Charity Santa Run also received generous support from Gewara, China Travel Service and various media sponsors, including City Weekend, Shanghai Daily, That’s Shanghai, Shanghai Morning Post, urbanfamily, Comfort, ICS, Channel Young, iKids, Shanghai Bang and Enjoy Shanghai.
