Renovation Overview
Phase 1
October 2025 - November 2026

Focus:

•New Tanjung Wing pool, refurbishment of Main Lobby (Tanjung Wing), Borneo Lounge and the resort driveway entrance.

Phase 2
May 2026 - Q2 2027

Focus:

•Refurbishment of Lobby (Kinabalu Wing), new Western grill restaurant, new family facilities, revamped recreation centres, infinity, family & baby pools, Water Play Area, Shang Palace, STAR Lounge and Hotel Shop.

•Refurbishment of Kinabalu Wing rooms is scheduled to begin from May 2026.

Update: From November 2026, guests can enjoy the newly opened Tanjung Wing swimming pool (1.2m depth).

Which facilities will remain open?

These facilities will remain in operation during Phase 1 from October 2025 – November 2026:

• All restaurants and bars,

• Selected Tanjung Wing guest rooms and suites,

• Horizon guestrooms and the relocated Horizon Lounge, until August 2026,

• From August 2026 to January 2027, the Horizon Lounge will be temporarily closed. During this period, Suite guests will continue to enjoy personalised privileges, including: Personalised airport transfers with in-room check-in, Daily breakfast at Café TATU (6.30am – 10.30am) or 24-hour In-Room Dining, Complimentary pressing of two garments per stay, and Daily High Tea Set with selected complimentary beverages at Coco Joe's (4.30pm – 6.30pm),

• Kinabalu Lobby,

• All function rooms,

• Leisure Centre and the infinity, baby and family pools, water play area,

• Recreation Game room,

• Cool Zone Kids’ Club,

• Health Club and the gymnasium,

• STAR Lounge,

• Sunset Beach,

• Tennis courts,

• STAR Marina,

• Chi, The Spa,

• Hotel Shop, and

• From May 2026, all Kinabalu Wing guest rooms and suites will be closed for renovation and will remain unavailable until completion in Q2 2027.

These facilities will remain in operation during Phase 2 from May 2026:

• All restaurants and bars,

• All Tanjung Wing guest rooms and suites,

• All function rooms,

• Leisure Centre and the infinity, baby and family pools, water play area,

• Recreation Game room,

• Cool Zone Kids’ Club,

• Health Club and the gymnasium,

• STAR Lounge,

• Sunset beach,

• Tennis courts,

• STAR Marina, and

• Chi, The Spa.

• Tanjung (Main) Lobby from November 2026.

• NEW Tanjung Wing swimming pool (1.2m depth) from November 2026.

• NEW Western grill restaurant from February 2027.

• The Horizon Lounge will be temporarily closed from August 2026 to January 2027. During this period, alternative Horizon Club privileges will be available for Suite and Shangri-La Circle Diamond members, including: Personalised airport transfers with in-room check-in, Daily breakfast at Café TATU (6.30am – 10.30am) or 24-hour In-Room Dining, Complimentary pressing of two garments per stay, Daily High Tea Set with selected complimentary beverages at Coco Joe's (4.30pm – 6.30pm).

• Relocated Leisure Centre from mid-October 2026.

Will dining be affected?

Borneo Lounge: Closed from December 2025 – November 2026

Horizon Lounge: Temporarily relocated during that time

Shang Palace: Closed from March 2027 – October 2027

New Western Grill: Opening February 2027

All other outlets remain open.

Will there be noise or visual impact?

Renovation work is scheduled daily from 9am to 6pm.

We will take every possible measure to mitigate disturbance, including:

• Strategic hoarding,

• Buffer zones between work areas and rooms, and

• Re-routing pathways with buggy and umbrella support.

Some noise and visual impact may be noticeable during your stay.

Will this affect my stay?

Your comfort is our priority. We are:

• Ensuring operational continuity of key guest areas, and

• Offering newly enhanced spaces progressively, including the new pool (November 2026) andnew restaurant (February 2027).
