Island Shangri-La Festival of Wine

The Festival of Wine 2024 at Island Shangri-La highlights over 100 labels from 6 countries, ranging from Burgundy classics to Chinese Baijiu, as well as up and coming estates from New Zealand, United States and other regions. The month-long event will feature the Macallan 200th anniversary special edition whisky from Macallan, marking the whisky brand’s debut of the product with Island Shangri-La as the first Hong Kong hotel to feature the exclusive whisky in a new and modern-style tasting experience at Lobster Bar. Petrus will highlight Signature icons such as the classic 1924 Chateau Palmer, as well as the Chateau Latour 1961, the star of this year’s event, among an array of aged classics to be sampled with cuisine by chef Uwe Opocensky. As part of an intriguing experience, Ming Pavilion will be home to a blind tasting and pairing dinner event featuring prized KweiChow Zhen Baijiu.

 

Other notable experiences include a sample of Bordeaux’s En Primeur wines at Petrus, Domaine de la Vougeraie pairing dinner at Summer Palace, and Bellvista wine dinner at Nadaman. All event tickets are available at Shangri-La Boutique now.

Iconic Wines

For a taste of tradition, discover Signature Icons of exquisite burgundy vintages with Bordeaux Rare Vintage at Restaurant Petrus. Served alongside the refined dishes of elegant French ingredients, the event highlights exceptional aged creations, including Château Margaux 1961 and Château Latour 1961, a classic 1924 Château Palmer, and the historic Château Mouton-Rothschild 1918 and Château Lafite-Rothschild 1908 that sits at an average of HK$38,000 and HK$10,000 per bottle respectively.

Classic Regions and Wineries

Be transported to the rolling French vineyards of Premeaux-Prissey with Domaine da La Vougeraie in the exploration of Classic Regions and Wineries at Summer Palace. Complemented by rich Cantonese flavours, the pairing dinner spotlights delicate expressions from the family-owned estate, including three Grand Cru wines priced at HK$3,500 each – the fine Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru and Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru. The exclusive session will be hosted by Mr. Arnaud Bardary, one of 275 esteemed MS-Master Sommeliers in the world, who holds previous positions as Head Sommelier under Gordon Ramsay and Group Sommelier for Black Sheep Restaurants in Hong Kong.
