The plaza is also home to an open-air amphitheatre. Surrounding the Square are many buildings of historical interest such as the Royal Selangor Club and the National History Museum.

Petronas Twin Towers

Set against the skies of Kuala Lumpur is the Petronas Twin Towers. Construction of the towers was completed in 1997.

Although this iconic structure was never envisioned to be the tallest building in the world, it laid claim to that title for many years. Today the Petronas Twin Towers is considered the tallest twin structure in the world.

Soaring 452 metres into the city skyline, Petronas Twin Towers’ architectural design is based on basic Islamic geometric forms. The Islamic principle of ‘unity within unity, harmony, stability and rationality’ is said to be the focal point of the building.

An amazing combination of glass and steel, the towers feature a Skybridge that is easily accessible to tourists. The Skybridge connects the 41st and 42nd floors of the towers and provides panoramic views of the city.

KL City Centre (KLCC) Park

Beautiful, majestic and serene, KLCC Park provides a refreshing break from the urban setting of Kuala Lumpur. This impressively landscaped park is the ideal destination for indulging in a tranquil stroll or simply unwinding and relaxing.

Spread out over 50 acres, this garden of serenity is a stark contrast from the rest of the city. Designed by the late Roberto Burle Marx, the park utilises a combination of trees, cement structures, shrubs, wood and stone to create an invigorating atmosphere.

For those wishing to take a break from shopping or business activities, KLCC Park is the ideal haven for relaxation.

Quick Facts
Quick Facts

In just 50 years, Kuala Lumpur, or KL, has grown from a small tin-mining town into a modern, bustling city. Take in its high-flying triumphs from the viewing deck of Petronas Twin Towers, then dive down to explore its more traditional culture in the back lanes of Chinatown.

KL may be a modern Asian city, but it retains much of its local colour. There are still plenty of colonial buildings in its centre. The vibrant Chinatown teems with street vendors and night markets, and Little India is full of life.
