Shangri-La Hotel, Shenyang Presents Authentic and Signature Cuisine with Shangri-La Star Chefs from Northeast China

Shenyang, 29 December 2015 – Shangri-La Hotel, Shenyang embarks on a north-eastern culinary journey with “Authentic and Signature Cuisine with Shangri-La Star Chefs from Northeast China”, together with Shangri-La hotels in Dalian, Changchun and Harbin, from 8 to 24 January 2016.

North-eastern cuisine is known for having multiple flavours in the same dish, the distinct palatability of salty and sweet, heavy taste and tender or crispy texture.  Combined with royal cuisine and Han specialities, it has developed into a typical local cuisine with signature north-eastern ingredients.

This New Year, Shangri-La Hotel, Shenyang invites local diners to embark on a culinary journey from 8 January 2016 onward, together with star chefs from Summer Palace and Shang Palace of three other Shangri-La hotels.

Summer Palace and Shang Palace, Shangri-La’s signature Chinese restaurants, are known for creating great dining experience and their talented culinary teams capture flavourful tastes in each of the cities in which they are located through continuous innovation.

For this north-eastern food festival, Chefs Bert Liu, Victor Hu, Yinshuang Dai and Mike Feng from Shangri-La hotels in Shenyang, Dalian, Changchun and Harbin will present eight authentic and signature north-eastern dishes, including Stewed Chicken with Mushroom, Deep-Fried Minced Vegetable Balls, Soaked Scallion Cake with Fish Head, Streaky Pork, Pickled Sour Cabbage Rolls, Wok-Fried Marinated Venison with Wild Mushroom, Fragrant Minced Ginger Baked Cod, Braised Dalian Seafood Delicacy and Wok-Fried Octopus with Mushrooms and Seafood Sauce and more.

“With our passion for cooking and knowledge of special northeast ingredients, we will be able to present authentic and signature north-eastern cuisine and, more importantly, a taste of home by integrating both traditional and contemporary cooking method,” said the four Shang chefs.
