Shangri-La Qiantan, Shanghai is expected to launch in Q3 2021, and is located in the Qiantan Expo Area in Pudong, Shanghai. Together with Taikoo Li Qiantan and New Bund Centre, Shangri-La Qiantan, Shanghai forms a large international business district that integrates offices, retail, hotel and other functions. The area is fully equipped with supporting cultural, medical, educational, sporting, recreational and other lifestyle facilities.

Shangri-La Qiantan, Shanghai is strategically positioned across West Bund. It is just a 15-minute drive from the city’s People’s Square via Middle Ring Road and the North-South Elevated Road, and 30-40 minutes away from Hongqiao International Airport and Pudong International Airport. It only takes a few minutes to walk to the Oriental Sports Centre Station and the area is connected by Metro Lines 6, 8 and 11. Other public transportation facilities such as the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), a cross-river tunnel and the Qiantan Station of Metro Line 19 are being planned and will make the hotel even more accessible.

Design Concept

Shangri-La Qiantan, Shanghai is jointly designed by renowned international design studios Ga, STACK, Takenouchi Webb and HBA. The design concept draws on elements of both Shanghainese culture and “green nature”, cleverly combining them to create a unique sensory experience. The screen doors, walls and art objects showcase traditional Shanghainese architectural elements such as Shikumen, and signature patterns create the feeling of a “home away from home” for guests. The Bar and outdoor areas on the sixth floor feature a wide, open green space. This urban oasis brings guests closer to nature, giving them a feeling of tranquillity amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.

Guestrooms and Suites

The 28-story hotel building offers a total of 585 guestrooms. The simple yet modern design is enhanced with thoughtful touches throughout to elevate the guest experience. Every guestroom comes with either a day bed or sofa bed, whilst 56 of the rooms offer a twin bed option to meet the needs of corporate groups and family travellers. In addition, guestrooms are equipped with a filtered water dispensers as part of Shangri-La Group’s initiatives to reduce the use of disposable plastic products

Restaurants and Bar

The hotel features 2 restaurants, 1 lobby lounge and 1 bar. The All-day Dining Restaurant brings together multiple open kitchens that serve a selection of international cuisines. The Chinese Restaurant, which specialises in new Huaiyang cuisine, continues the Shangri-La Group’s proud tradition of culinary excellence with its authentic and innovative offerings. The Bar located on the first floor allows guests to enjoy a moment of relaxation in a serene garden setting, with signature herb inspired cocktails, a large selection of fine wines and a curated list of international beverages. The Lobby Lounge has multiple distinctive zones which allows guests to enjoy the space with premium teas, coffees and housemade pastries.

Fitness and Recreation

The 2,000-square metre Wellness Club aims to deliver programs and facilities designed to nourish guests’ bodies and minds. The fitness areas are equipped with aerobic facilities and professional strength training equipment. A range of training programs, including yoga and aerobics are offered in the multi-functional training rooms with fitness instructors on-site to customise programmes for guests. Guests can also choose to stretch their muscles in the 25-metre heated indoor swimming pool or pamper themselves with therapy treatments at the Spa.

Conferences and Events

Shangri-La Qiantan, Shanghai boasts over 7,000 square metres of conference and banquet space, including 2 banquet ballrooms and multiple conference and VIP rooms. Located on the same floor, these banquet and conference facilities are ideal choices for social and business events. The outdoor area on the seventh floor provides a unique venue for more intimate functions.
