Shangri-La Hotel, Harbin Celebrates the Lunar Year with City Cleaners

Harbin, 1 February 2016 –Shangri-La Hotel, Harbin invited 30 city cleaners who work in the surrounding community to eat dumplings together for a warm lunar year on 1 February 2016.
 
The staff restaurant was decorated with beautiful Chinese New Year stickers and ornaments for this event.  The hotel hoped the city cleaners could feel the breath of the upcoming Lunar New Year and the care from the hotel.
 
Together with the executive committee (excom) members, the hotel general manager came to the restaurant early to prepare to welcome the cleaners.  Some of them were responsible for handing out utensils and others would serve the dumplings, spices, fruits and yogurt.  They wanted to express their appreciation for the cleaners’ hard work and contribution towards the sanitation around the hotel.  The staff restaurant manager controlled the cooking time personally to make sure the cleaners could enjoy warm dumplings as soon as they entered the restaurant.
 
After the city cleaners were seated, the hotel’s excom members joined them to enjoy the dumplings.  While eating, they talked and laughed while chatting about home and savouring soup dumplings.  Their stomachs and hearts were filled with warmth in the peaceful atmosphere.  The hotel also prepared a warm cup with love as a New Year gift for each of them, so they start their work outdoors with a warm water to drink.
 
As a company that actively executes corporate social responsibility (CSR), the hotel has not only met the requirements of the city’s environmental protection bureau, but also gained the international environmental protection system certification ISO14001.  While maintaining environmental awareness consistently, the hotel recognises that Daoli District’s city cleaners have made tremendous contributions towards protecting the community’s environment.
 
Shangri-La Hotel, Harbin held this event with love for the city cleaners, hoping to show its deep appreciation for them during the festival.  At the same time, the hotel called for more respect and care from all social sectors to these city beauticians and increase awareness of environmental protection to help make create a better community environment.
