Change Climate Change Shangri-La Hotel, Harbin And Songbei Shangri-La, Harbin Join Earth Hour Together

Harbin, 25 March 2017 – Shangri-La Hotel, Harbin and Songbei Shangri-La, Harbin took part in Earth Hour, the global environmental protection movement, by the Neon Walk.  In a campaign called “Change Climate Change”, the two Shangri-La hotels in Harbin joined the movement for the first time to call on colleagues and guests to help protect the environment through their own abilities.
At 8:30 p.m., the two hotels dimmed or turned off all their non-essential lights and placed a big “60+” logo made with candles in the lobby to encourage guests to join the activity.  To convey the spirit of environmental protection between the two sides of Songhua River, two volunteer teams from both Shangri-La Hotel, Harbin and Songbei Shangri-La, Harbin walked with glowing sticks to the other hotel to promote a healthy low-carbon travel lifestyle and take action to defend the blue sky.
The meeting of the volunteer teams on Songbei Avenue symbolised the joint environmental protection spirit of the two hotels.  As part of a socially responsible corporation, both Shangri-La hotels commit to continually protecting the environment within their respective communities.
Staff from Shangri-La Hotel, Harbin and Songbei Shangri La, Harbin organised Earth Hour activities to encourage the participation of hotel guests through guest letters and in-room TV and electronic displays in the public areas.
Guests who participated in the event enjoyed unplugged music and green cocktails at Lobby Lounge.  Diners at Coffee Garden enjoyed a candlelight buffet with a special “Earth Hour” dining table and were served “Rooted in Nature” green and healthy food.
Climate change closely affects everyone and haze has become an environmental concern.  To help maintain the blue sky, everyone is responsible for protecting the environment.
The hotel hopes to work with its guests, employees and partners to change the bad trend of climate change by living and consuming in a sustainable way.  Ultimately, the hotel hopes to help “Change Climate Change” and see the blue sky again.
