Shangri-La Hotel, Fuzhou’s New Executive Chef Opens New Chapter with Delicacies

Fuzhou, China, 15 January 2017 – Recently, Shangri-La Hotel, Fuzhou welcomed Malaysian chef Frederick Kho as its executive chef. After taking office, Frederick will be responsible for comprehensive food-quality testing and the kitchen operations of the hotel’s five restaurants, including eZ Café, Summer Palace Chinese Restaurant, Korye Jung, Lobby Lounge and Take it eZ, as well banquets and Food and Beverage Department.

With an accumulated and improved kitchen experience and cooking skills, and a love for delicacies and their special meaning, Chef Frederick created his own unique Southeast Asian cooking style gradually. During his 25-year-long culinary career, he has won several cooking-skill-challenge awards in Malaysia. Before joining Shangri-La Hotel, Fuzhou, his career footprint covered multiple international star hotels and he has held important positions across Singapore and Malaysia, including Traders Hotel, Singapore, Golden Sands Resort, Penang by Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore, Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur and Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Malaysia.

Right now, Chef Frederick comes to Fuzhou with his Southeast Asian-style cooking passion and unique production concept, committing to offer various and delicious specialty cuisines for guests at Fuzhou.

With the arrival of the new executive chef Frederick Kho, EZ Café has been fully upgraded. It added more food offerings, such as a new seafood menu including shrimp, squid, tiger crabs, mussels and so on, as well as various Southeast Asian-style hot dishes, including Singaporean-Style Fried Crabs, Malaysian Crispy Crabs, Fried Crabs with Salty Egg Yolk, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Fried Kway Teow, Seafood Porridge and fresh desserts.

The prices of ungraded eZ Café’s are RMB168 per person during weekday lunch; RMB228 per person during weekday dinner; RMB208 per person during weekend lunch; and RMB258 per person during weekend dinner. All prices are in RMB and are subject to 10% service charge and any government taxes and value-added tax (where applicable) payable on the prices together with the service charge.
